Where is my collection saved?
Your collection is saved in this browser's local storage without an account. It includes your selected movies, collection title, name, notes, theme, and any uploaded covers.
Custom cover files are processed in the browser. The collection and uploads are not submitted to a server-side collection account. Browser storage can be cleared or become full; export a JSON backup to retain a copy. Clear this site's local storage in your browser settings to remove its saved collection from that browser.
What information does a share link contain?
A share link contains your movie selections, collection title, name, notes, theme, and online cover URLs in its URL fragment. Anyone with the link can read this information. Uploaded cover data is excluded from share links but included in JSON backups.
The fragment is not sent as part of the initial HTTP request, but scripts running on the page can access it. Do not include sensitive information in names or notes. The GA4 integration omits URL query strings and fragments from its configured page-location value; this does not mean other scripts cannot access the page.
What is sent when I search or load a poster?
Search terms are sent to this site's search endpoint and, when needed, to TMDB, Apple iTunes, or Wikipedia. The application database uses hashed query keys rather than storing raw query strings as cache keys.
Movie titles, metadata, source links, and cover URLs are cached on the server. Nonempty results can remain usable for up to 25 hours, including the period for serving stale results during outages. Expired database records are removed during subsequent cleanup; expiration is not an immediate deletion guarantee.
Preview covers can load from provider image servers, which receive ordinary network request information such as your IP address. PNG export requests external covers through this site's image proxy; the proxy cache can retain image responses for 24 hours. Hosting and network providers also process request information to deliver the service.
Application rate limiting uses a daily rotating hash derived from the visitor's IP address. The application database does not store the raw IP address for this purpose. This does not describe or limit separate hosting-provider logs.
Does the site use analytics or advertising?
When enabled on the production site, Google Analytics 4 measures visits, Microsoft Clarity provides heatmaps and session recordings, and Adsterra supplies advertising. These third-party services may process usage, device, and network information and may use cookies or similar technologies. Clarity recordings may capture on-page interactions; avoid entering sensitive information.
These integrations are disabled in local and preview builds. Browser privacy controls and content blockers may limit third-party requests. The site does not currently provide a dedicated consent or preference panel.
Who publishes this notice, and how can I get in touch?
This notice is published under the My 9 Movies project name. No individual maintainer or legal operator is publicly listed, and a public contact channel has not been published. The contact page will reflect any future contact details.
